Need to Transfer Hundreds of Wedding Photos from Your Computer to Your Phone?

from Jay Grubb Photography and Video

Once you've downloaded your wedding photo gallery in PixieSet, the next step many clients want is to view or share those memories directly from their phone. This guide walks you through the easiest ways to transfer a large number of high-quality images from your computer to your mobile device.
We’ve included options for both Apple users (Mac + iPhone) and for Windows + Android users.

For Apple Users (Mac to iPhone)

Method 1: Use Apple’s AirDrop

This is the fastest method if you are transferring from a Mac to an iPhone or iPad.

  1. Turn on AirDrop on your iPhone
  • Open Control Center (swipe down from top right).
  • Tap the AirDrop icon and choose “Everyone” or “Contacts Only”.
  1. Open the Photos Folder on Your Mac
  • Locate the folder where you downloaded your PixieSet gallery (e.g., "Wedding Gallery – Jay Grubb").
  1. Select All Photos
  • Press Command + A to highlight all photos in the folder.
  1. Right Click and Choose “Share” > “AirDrop”
  2. Choose Your iPhone from the AirDrop list
  3. Accept the Transfer on Your iPhone
  • Tap Accept and choose “Save to Photos” when prompted.
Tip: AirDrop can handle hundreds of photos, but transferring in smaller batches (200–300 at a time) may make the process smoother.

Method 2: Use the Photos App + iCloud

  1. Open the Photos App on your Mac
  2. Drag and Drop Your PixieSet Photos into the Photos App
  3. Ensure iCloud Photos is Enabled
  • Go to System Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Photos and turn on iCloud Photos.
  1. Wait for Upload to Finish
  • Once uploaded, they’ll automatically sync to your iPhone’s Photos app.

For Windows and Android Users

Method 1: Use Google Photos

  1. Go to photos.google.com on your computer
  2. Log in with the same Google account used on your Android phone
  3. Click the “Upload” button and select your PixieSet gallery folder
  4. Wait for the Upload to Complete
  • This may take time depending on your internet speed and the number of images.
  1. Open the Google Photos App on Your Phone
  • All uploaded photos will appear automatically, synced to your account.
Tip: Google Photos is free for standard-quality uploads or uses your Google storage for original file sizes.

Method 2: Transfer via USB Cable (Windows to Android)

  1. Connect Your Android Phone to Your Computer with a USB Cable
  2. Tap “Allow File Transfer” on Your Phone
  3. On Your Computer, Open File Explorer > Locate Your Device > Open the DCIM or Pictures Folder
  4. Drag and Drop Your PixieSet Photos into the Folder
  5. Eject the Phone Safely and Unplug It
  6. Open the Gallery or Google Photos App on Your Phone to View

Bonus Tip: Use Dropbox or Google Drive

  • Upload your folder from your computer to Dropbox or Google Drive
  • Open the respective app on your phone and download images as needed
This is a great option for sharing albums with family too!
